The YHS is a health service for young people run by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde working in partnership with Culture and Sport Glasgow, Community Addictions Team and voluntary organisations.

Do U Have Problems With Eating?

Overweight.

Eating too much can have serious effects on your health.

Almost a fifth of pre-school children in Maryhill, Woodside and North Glasgow are overweight.

If you are a stone overweight it’s like carrying around the equivalent of 7 bags of sugar everywhere you go.

Eating Disorder?

Anorexia? worrying too much about food, image & trying to lose weight.

Bulemia? eating too much then making yourself sick because you’re worrying about calories and gaining weight.

More girls than boys are affected.

More common in young people aged 15-25yrs.

Eating disorders in young people can become more severe more quickly than in adults.

Sometimes eating problems are linked to emotional upsets and all eating problems can be helped by talking to someone, so the quicker you do that the better.
