The YHS is a health service for young people run by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde working in partnership with Culture and Sport Glasgow, Community Addictions Team and voluntary organisations.

Did U know?

In Britain, in 2000 about 46,000 girls under 18 became pregnant.
In Maryhill and North Glasgow the teenage pregnancy rate is 47% above the national average. Some girls will continue with the pregnancy… and up to half that number will have an abortion (this choice is open up to 12 weeks)

So, look for the signs that make you think you might be pregnant:
Missed period
Feeling sick in the morning
Feeling tired
Changes in appetite
Going to the toilet more often
Feeling bloated or having period like cramp
Sore boobs

If you are in any doubt then come in to the YHS on a Thursday night at Maryhill Health Centre or YHS @ Sandyford North on Wednesday night and we can do a pregnancy test there and then for free.

Alternatively, you can drop in to the family planning clinic also at Sandyford North on Mondays 1.00 - 4.00pm or telephone the Sandyford Initiative on 0141 211 8130.
